Hi jackster,

Not everything's clear. Did you extract the files? When you tried to delete it from the desktop, was it the rar file you were trying to delete or the program? Did you install it without running it?

Is there anything in add-remove programs?

If you go to Start / Run and type in services.msc and click on ok, in the list that opens up, do you find anything related to Spotmau Wincare 2008 or to folder protect? If so, can you see if that is enabled?

It may be necessary to re-download the program over the old one if at all possible, allow it to install into the same directory, and then remove it using add-remove programs.
