Hi there,

2 months ago, i bought a new pc: AMD Phenom 9750 Quad-core (2,4GHz), 2 GB RAM,
NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT (512MB), Seagate 320GB (c:\),
400Watt Power Supply, XP Home SP3.

Then, after installing all my software, about a week later,

-there where BLEU SCREENS from time to time (sometimes when i was working in photoshop,
sometimes immediately after windows was started up, sometimes when i was doing nothing at all...)
errors of the blue screen:
- IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_EQUAL
- KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR
- ...

-sometimes, immediately after booting up my pc, before the loading screen of windows appears,
the screen shows a black screen with a white text, saying something like: "blabla....Cannot startup windows,
cannot find c:\windows\system32\windows\system, the file is gone or damaged ...blabla"
(i could fix this by booting with my XPhome CD, let the setup loading the install files and then abort the
installation, so i could reboot the system with no problem anymore)

So, i thought maybe virus or spyware... nothing found with AVG8, Ad-Aware, Kaspersky Online,...
The problem went worse, day after day, more and more errors, bluescreens, stops at startup, restarts,...
Then i went to the pc-store, i explained the problem and the guy checked my HDD with Seatools on a bootable CD.

AND YES! We found the problem, seatools found more then 100 errors, harddisk had crashed! So i got
a brandnew seagate 320gb (to store all my media) and i bought a supplement, a seagate 80gb to use for Windows and all programs, for booting.

By the way, memtest86 found no errors in my RAM memory

So, i started with 2 brandnew HDDs and all hardware checked. I installed windows XP Home SP3 and all software on
the 80gb seagate (c:\) and all my media (mp3, photos, movies,..) on the seagate 320gb (d:\)

Everything was ok, my pc was running fine. yes!

BUT, almost 3 weeks ago, i startup my pc and AGAIN the BLACK and BLUE SCREENS at random times, damn!!
I went back to the pc-store. There they checked all hardware and no errors where found. So they thought
it must be the powersupply. And they installed a new one (400Watt). In the store they had running my pc
for 2 days nonstop and also defragmented my 2 HDD's without a single problem..

When i came home:
FIRST ERROR! there is an error in rundll32.exe
i restarted and no problem anymore, but...
yesterday: BLUE SCREEN: IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_EQUAL
then ANOTHER ONE without specific error message,
when starting up: freeze when windows(logo) is loading
and so on.. and on..

So i checked everything again with: AVG8, Kaspersky Online, Ad-Aware, CCleaner,
Spybot, Stinger, HijackThis and RootkitRevealer (log files included) and no errors found.
And by now I don't know what to do anymore

I hope there will be someone that can fix this problem...
Thanks!

Pieter

Greetings pierepol and Welcome to the Forums,

The logs you have posted show us no reason at all for the issue you have described. A couple things of note:

the screen shows a black screen with a white text, saying something like: "blabla....Cannot startup windows,
cannot find c:\windows\system32\windows\system, the file is gone or damaged ...blabla"

...First, I should point out, there is no legitimate file path as the one shown above. The legitimate file paths for the Windows "System" and "System32" folders are:
C:\Windows\system
C:\Windows\system32

...and googling the file path as you have it above returns nothing except this thread. There could be two reasons for that...one is that you simply typed it wrong and the other would be that some malicious software created the folders with that file path but neither are plausible culprits behind the blue screen issue you've described.

I should also point out that diagnosing the issue based upon your description is a near impossibility. It would be a tremendous help for US if you were to be more descriptive. For example, instead of using "blabla" to describe the error message, please write down exactly what appears on the screen and post THAT information when asking for assistance. I'm quite sure you'll receive some response much sooner.

From what little information you DID provide for us, I can say that the error message "IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_EQUAL" is typically due to faulty or incompatible drivers. If your Windows installation works fine until you install your software/hardware then it's a safe bet that you should consider one (or more) of those drivers as your culprit.

Should you still need assistance, please post back the information exactly as it appears on the "Stop" screen. Thanks!
