so i have formatted my comp about twice now but it still keeps locking up in desktop or in games cant do anything its a complete freeze. i have checked my event log and its always the same few programs giving erros com+ com and dcom in previous formats i have disabled them and all their dependencies still kept freezing. im in a new format atm and it has frozen a couple of times today already so im really stumped on this, i took it to a mates computer store and they checked all the hardware and its fine and my temps dont really seemto be a problem to me.

error 1 :
The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during its internal processing. HRESULT was 80070422 from line 44 of d:\comxp_sp3\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services to report this error.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

just wondering if this is an easy fix?? or since it seems to be a windows problem that formatting dosnt fix, would buying vista help?

Hi batanga, and welcome to BleepingComputer.

Would you please let us know what the make and model of you computer is?

If this is a custom build please list the make and model of the motherboard?

Have you added a graphics card by chance?

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
