Hi all you lovely people,

Hoping you can help me! I've got some kind of trojan I think, I ran avast antivirus and it said it had deleted 2 trojans but I'm still having lots of problems from screen flashes, to pop-up windows. When a window pops up avast sometimes says that a virus has bn detected and gives me the option to abort connection. All really frustrating! Here is my hjt log. I had to run it in safe mode as I can barely get on to any websites at all in normal mode cause there are so many pop-ups.
Please be patient with me I'm not the most computer literate of people! Thanks a million....

hi,

you should have at least one anti-malware app, along with your AV (Avast). I suggest you download and run antimalwarebytes, after running it rescan with hjt and post the malwarebytes log and a new hjt log. link and directions:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop:

http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt

Hi,

Did an antimalware scan which didn't come up with anything but for some reason Avast doesn't complete a full scan and closes down with an error after the scan is at about 13%. The avast icon has also disappeared in the toolbar and I have the blue screen of death! Should I try to reinstall avast? Here is an updated hjt log. Thanks again for your help on this...

hi,

ok good, antimalwarebytes came up clean. Just to make sure Avast isnt "choking" on something try running it in safe mode. to reach safe mode you would tap the f8 key during a computer restart. chose the first option from the list: safe mode. see if it can finish a scan in safe mode. log looks ok as far as i can tell, but that dosnt mean you still dont have malware.

How Can I Reduce My Risk to Malware?
