I have windows vista system 32. when i type documents in microsoft word (still using 98 cause I like it better), my documents are saved into unknown files such as qm1axes. when you do a search in any way in the computer the folder neither the saved file is found. Only when you are saving another doc do you see the previously saved files but you cant access them.

I have antispyware and antiviral software(s). I run registry checks etc. nothing is ever found that resolves my problem. the other day i was online with microsoft, they took control of the computer. no such luck with a solution there. any ideas?

Do you have a dual boot system using both VISTA and WIN 98?

VISTA is not recognizing the WIN 98 files it appears.

But I don't know why. HANG on - another here may have the answer.

It appears from what you say, it's not a dual boot.

I would up grade to a newer OFFICE version.

Check your Vista system program files? You may already have a newer version installed? And only need to activate it.
