Hello Paleojoe, Welcome to Bleeping Computer. The good news is I see nothing really bad in the log. This issue appears to be caused by RealTek High Definition audio driver.
Please read the information in the links under the items. The first one ALCWZRD.EXE you will have to decide if you wish to disable it, but we often remove the other because of the spyware nature of the item. Let's do that to see if it fixes your issue then you decide about the other item.

C:\WINDOWS\ALCWZRD.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcWzrd] ALCWZRD.EXE
http://castlecops.com/startuplist-5285.html

C:\WINDOWS\ALCMTR.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Alcmtr] ALCMTR.EXE
http://castlecops.com/startuplist-5306.html

O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://bar.mywebsearch.com/menusearch.html...US_ZSXXXXXXXXUS
http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/grayware/v...5FWEBSEARCH%2EK

1) First we need to put a folder around the HJT.exe on the Desktop. Use these instructions to correct this issue. HJT needs to store the HJT.exe, logs and backups in that folder:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-post-a-hijackthis-log/

2) Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Take the time to review the instructions on the download page so that when I ask you to run it you will know what you are doing.

3) Open Task Manager then the Processes Tab. Locate, highlite and end process on C:\WINDOWS\ALCMTR.EXE

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Alcmtr] ALCMTR.EXE
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://bar.mywebsearch.com/menusearch.html...US_ZSXXXXXXXXUS

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

RIGHT click on Start, then click Explore. Locate and delete this item:

C:\WINDOWS\ALCMTR.EXE >>> file

You may have to enable hidden files: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...showtutorial=62

Run CCleaner then restart the computer and post a new log in this same thread along with any feedback you have. Let us know how you are running.

Thanks...pskelley

Paleojoe, Well sir, I see no malware in the log. My first request was not carried out:

1) First we need to put a folder around the HJT.exe on the Desktop. Use these instructions to correct this issue. HJT needs to store the HJT.exe, logs and backups in that folder:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-post-a-hijackthis-log/

If for some reason, and it is usually a mistake where the wrong item is removed, I can not guarantee you will have backups.

Please use HJT to remove these items unless you know what they are. Any item that is remove will be put back the next time you visit that website, google does not identify these items, the same instructions for using HJT before apply to these items.

Since your log is clean, here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:

Posting another HJT log is optional.
Thanks...pskelley
