Operating system: Windows XP SP3

the first thing happened is, when i'm browsing on the web, using firefox. it was soo slow and i was thinking why it was like that, and a friend told me that it must be some adware(Note: the vertical scrollbar isn't existing yet). and then, i performed a quick scan with malwarebytes and it detected 12-16 infected objects (can't remember the exact quantity), then the windows, restarted. and then, i performed a full scan with malwarebytes. and detected 3 infected objects, those are trojan, worm, and i don't remember the last one... and then when i run the firefox, it has a vertical scrollbar on top.(below the toolbar), and i tried to reinstall the mozilla firefox 3. and its still there. is it somekind of a virus or anything? please help me thanks in advance.
