I've recently had some troubled with Virtumonde and TrojanDNS downloaders but seem to have cleaned them all off my machine - both Malwarebytes and NOD32 in depth scans are returning with nothing.

However, I still have C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Wallpaper1.bmp running as a task in Windows Task Manager. I've seen it before but cleaning said viruses from my pc managed to clear it. And now it's back.

I am using Aston 1.9.6, however the first time I saw that task was long after I had installed and run Aston successfully so I'm hesitant to believe that it's related to that.

I'm running Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600)

Please let me know if you need any other info. Thanks.

I don't think I can help with suggesting things since I don't want to end up screwing things up for you (or the Malware experts here), but there's something I need to ask. What is Aston? I've never heard of it before....can you explain what it is if you can?

Aston is a shell replacement for windows explorer. It basically changes the way your desktop, taskbar and start menu look like. Similar to Windows Blinds but much more stable and reliable.

Okay, I'm not exactly an expert, but I'll just get you started.

Please update and rerun Malwarebytes. Once it's done, let it restart if it has to. Then post the log here. You can find the log under the Logs tab of Malwarebytes. Open up the most recent log, then copy and paste that log into your next post.
