My Friends: I am trying to establish Remote Assistance between 2 computers in a home network behind a router. Both computers have Windows XP Pro. I can send and receive regular emails between computers without a problem, but when I send an invitation email for permission it is never received. Port 3389 shows as listening. I tried different solutions found on the internet, but no luck so far. Anyone has any tangible, working solutions? Thank you.

are you specifically wanting to use remote assistance.....if not i would suggest the following...

have you tried remote desktop (all programs --> accessories --> communications --> remote desktop)

you'll need to make sure the computer is remote desktop enabled (control panel --> system --> Remote tab) "allow users to connect remotely"

then simply enter the computer name you want to connect to

**edit** FYI....RDP is only available in XP Pro (which you stated you have)
