I have a shield in the systray that blinks back and forth from red with a white x to blue with a white question mark. I have been unable to get rid of it using symantec 11.0.3001-2224 with current updates. Also, and I think the underlying problem is that sometimes my browser will redirect when I click on a item after a google search. My hypothesis for how I got the current item is when it redirected me to some other site, it downloaded this new one on my computer.

Please let me know what else you need. I appreciate any help I can get.

Updated Log attached with everything shown - last one was ignoring non-standard but safe domains.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Hello Matt needs help,

Posted Image

You have a nasty old worm, and a couple of other equally nasty things.

This tool is not a toy. If used the wrong way you could trash your computer. Please use only under direction of a Helper. If you decide to do so anyway, please do not blame me or ComboFix.

1. Download this file - combofix.exe
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply please, along with a new HijackThis log.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall.

Thanks,
tea
