totally screwed

so this is pretty bad, on my laptop

1. can not connect to the internet
2. explorer has encountered an error and will shut down
3. can't run system restore
4. computer crashes half way through mcafee virus scan or ca virus scan

i tried to install and run malwarebtes anit-malware get following error:

! run-time error '372":

Failed to load control 'vbalgrid6.ocx. Your version of vbalsgrid6.ocx may be outdated.
Make sure you are using the control that was provided with your application.

since i cant connect to the internet i had to save malewarebytes to a cd but i dont know how to save an updated version to cd.

i see this error runtime error has been discussed in http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...=4870&st=40
but unfortunately i do not know what the final fix was.

You will also need to, manually download the updates, save and transfer them as well. After installing MBAM, just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install and update.

Before performing a Quick Scan with MBAM in normal mode, please print out and follow these http://thespykiller.co.uk/index.php/topic,5946.0.html.
Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you may be asked to reboot your computer so it can proceed with the disinfection process. Reagardless if prompted to restart the computer or not, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware. When done, click the Logs tab and copy/paste the contents of the new report in your next reply.

no this update does not fix the run-time error.

hey does anyone know,

i have my windows installation cd i want to do windows repair but when it prompts for administrator password.
i don't recall creating a password. is there a default password?

If you don't have a password just click on ok/enter, I can't remember exactly what the option is. :thumbsup:

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
