Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this, . . .

I think I am having a connection conflict or configuration problem,

and am posting information's concerning this in both Firefox and
Internet Explorer.

It is not corresponding to browser commands for new pages, either by
Google entries in the little window on the tool bar, or favorites or
links.

By the following information's, it is possible that there is more than
one area that is problematic.

I do know that in the following information's, AVG comes into the
picture a few times. Also the modem can not be queried, and I am
thinking that all the applications that use the modem are closed.

Not sure if all is relevant but the main problem seems to be the address and or server etc. can not be found.

Have you checked OE settings to make sure the server names are correct?

For info on your OE error number:

I have not checked with the ISP yet, I will, . . however it may be helpful if you know;

I just checked my device manager and found that for the PCI Device;

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.

This is the first time I have noticed this, previously I have had sound problem, (no audio device), with this 4403US system, I still have that problem, of course if this is not related, I'll post later in another forum.

It sounds sound related, but yet I know it may also have something to do with modem functions, so I thought I would mention it.

I am not positive how the Memorex software became loaded into this system, it was re-installed, (OS), so it should not have had this? but the slave has the Memorex files on it.

Thanks Queen Evie,
I just checked there was an error, when I set up the account I used a generic method from an internet search, and it was slightly different from my ISP's info.
hopefully this may solve that particular problem.

That may not have been the problem, I have just sent an email and received this message;

The host 'smtp.snip.net' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'pop3.snip.net', Server: 'smtp.snip.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

I have not restarted the computer since I have changed the O.E. Account information, however when I do restart the probably goes away temporarily, and the returns as it just has.

I will restart to see if that was what was needed.

I am wondering about the proxy information, although I am understanding it, the following information may provide you with an insight

General Computer Info
System Name: CPQ80632953046
Domain: WORKGROUP
Time Zone: Eastern Daylight Time
Connection: Workstation (standalone)
Proxy Server: None
IP Address: 209.204.86.146
IPX Address: Not Enabled

Concerning the PCI device previously mentioned as viewed in the device manager, the following is from systems information Hardware Resources> Conflicts/Sharing

I/O Port 0x00000000-0x00000CF7 PCI bus
I/O Port 0x00000000-0x00000CF7 Direct memory access controller

Memory Address 0xA0000-0xBFFFF PCI bus
Memory Address 0xA0000-0xBFFFF Intel® 82815 Graphics Controller

I don't know what other information may clear this up however I think I will try the FF forum and submit the error information I have on that page.

I restarted O.E. only without turning off the machine, and it displayed the same error message, then after a few minutes it did send the email from the outbox ?
