Howdy. I just bought an HP laptop from Circuit City. It will not print to my ancient but awesome HP LaserJet 5N. I get an "ERROR" message every time I try to print. I've uninstalled the printer four time -- same deal. I went to HP.COM for new drivers, but they said they are built into Vista.

This laptop was a gift for my wife, but I refuse to keep it if it won't print to this workhorse printer. Circuit City has a 15% return-to-stock policy on opened computers, so now I'm fighting with them.

I called HP tech support and talked to both laptop and printer support, and they have no solutions.

Anyone out there encounter this before?

Hey EducatedGuess, welcome to BC!
I'm sure many people, including myself, would like to know the exact contents of your error message. Please post them when you get the chance.

Found this one on their support site:

Apparently you click on the link and it directs you to the proper driver

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
