Has anyone ever encountered disappearing bookmarks in Firefox? Some of my bookmarks that I've had for a long time have disappeared. In other words the name still appears on the bookmark list, but the address has disappeared from its properties so that when I click on it nothing happens. When I go to the organize bookmarks screen and try to delete the bookmark it won't delete. What gives?

Not exactly the same, but I had an issue with an add-on that
caused problems with my bookmarks. Try this:
Start Firefox from the Programs menu and choose - Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode)
If the bookmarks are back to normal in Safe Mode you will need to go through
your add-ons one at a time to find the pesky one.
If Safe Mode doesn't bring them back then head over to the link tork provided.

Just had this same problem.

Firefox updated itself and voila: Bookmarks are gone.

What's really weird though is that I had put some bookmarks into special sub folders. The subfolders are still there. Anything that wasn't in a subfolder though (most of my bookmarks) are gone.

I tried the safemode thing... didn't work unfortunately.

Edit:

Tried the line above as well. I wasn't able to solve anything via that way either. I'm not sure if I should start my own thread on this as I would be asking the same question.

It seemed as though Firefox just updated itself on my machine and killed the bookmarks. I'm running 2.0.0.17 now. Any advice is welcome because those bookmarks will be impossible to get back otherwise.
