Does it say what is causing the error??

Can you check your event logs and see what is going on in there??(providing that they are enabled)

hi,

no it doesn't say what is causing the error, the title bar of the window contains only the word "error" and the text is the only thing in the window besides the "ok" button. this is why i thought it might be spyware.

good idea about the logs. i will have a look. thanks...

scott
