I am trying to create my first distribution list in outlook 2003. I have followed the help instructions and created a list of four emails addresses saved it as

DL-Mygroup on my PC. I see this list in the contacts section of outlook.

When I try to send an email with my list I get an error that DL-mygroup is not found.

It looks like it looking for an email address for somebody in my company.

What I am doing wrong
