I have a Dell, which I purchased in 2002. I ordered from Dell and they had everything installed when they delivered the computer. Just last week, I opened up the Tower and installed a new hard drive and new memory. I have no idea what the old drive was, or the new drive. The guy at the store just told me how to insert, and I did. Everything works fine and, most important, FAST!

But I have no audio AT ALL. When I go to Sounds and Audio Devices Properties, it says right at the top 'No Audio Device'.

So what do I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers! - Tony

How did you install the new hdd, is it a slave to the old hdd as a master? Did you install the Windows operating system on the new hdd?

I have no idea. I'm not technically inclined when it comes to hardware, so I had no idea what I was doing. All I know is what the guy at the computer store told me to do. Just take out the old hdd and replace it with the new one I bought. I do know that I had to re-install the Operating System, which I did successfully. Everything works fine. The only problem is that I have no audio.

Again any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Above is a link to the support page for your system.

You need to download/install the audio drivers at http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/...tid=&impid=

It appears that you need the one under Audio (2)/Analog Devices.
