cannot update to service pack 3

I have tried to install this update multiple times. Please take a look at the error message in the file I uploaded. Thanks.

Well, this looks a little old, and I see no answers. I have a page with links to everything you ever wanted to know about SP3.

Microsoft provides free technical support via chat, email, or phone for Service Pack 3 installation problems. You'll find a link to that in this page as well. Here's the link -

The error reads: Service Pack 3 Setup could not backup registry value HKCR\.wdp,\Content Type\' 5: Access is denied.

why won't my laptop work?

The program in your second link took about 45 minutes to run and then I restarted my computer with a clean boot and the install finished without incident. Thanks.
