I get the following messages when I start my computer. This message repeates four times:
Windows could not upgrade the file Z1 FROM Z2 Z1:Z2

Windows could not upgrade one or more system files before starting

I cannot open the control panel except in the safe mode. I use AOL but I cannot input anything thur the keyboard including responding to e-mail. If I go to netscape then to AOL, I can respond to my e-mail.

I have run virus programs, spy programs, and reloaded my Melinium softward but nothing works. If anyone out there has any ideas I would sure appreciate them. This is driiving me nuts.

Hello chummer and welcome to BC

Since no one else has replied I guess I'll take a shot at this.

Go to Start>Run and type in msconfig and regedit and let us know what happens. Also, in Internet Explorer can you go to Tools>Internet Options and open that?
