hello. i have a lenovo laptop. i had antispywarexp 2009. i used malwarebytes to remove it. still couldnt search google and had error messages of "unable to retrieve lisence data, diskeeper will now close" at login screen of windows xp, and continual popups of "AcPrfMgrSvc.exe has ecountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry...".

Ran combofix as directed on this website. i accidently used the home edition xp recovery "patch"... i thought that's what i had but now, i think i might actually have professional xp, atleast according to a line in the report below....

Google was working for like an hour....now its not again, so im guessing the problem wasnt fully removed. i couldnt even access this website without safemode. And, the AcPrfMgrSvc.exe popup and diskeeper popup are still happening, even during the hour when google worked.. im in safe mode now...

below is my combofix log.....

ComboFix logs should not to be posted outside the HijackThis forums. It is an extremely powerful tool which should only be used when instructed to do so by someone who has been properly trained. ComboFix is intended by its creator to be "used under the guidance and supervision of an expert", NOT for private use. Please read Combofix's Disclaimer. Using this tool incorrectly could lead to disastrous problems with your operating system such as preventing it from ever starting again.

Please create a new topic explaining the nature of your problem. Describe pop-ups and system tray or desktop icons that have appeared. Explain what is "going wrong" with your computer. Note any tools you have used and their respective results.

If needed, we will direct you to our HJT Preparation Guide.

Thank you for using BleepingComputer as your malware removal source.
