i just recently bought an all in one hp photosmart c4480. i have installed it successfully. i tried to scan a picture to the computer and a message comes up saying hp imaging device not found; however it is scanning if i press scan to print on the printer. i went to the control panel and under scanners and cameras there is nothing there so i clicked on add an imaging device. when it comes up and they ask which scanner or camera would you like to add, i click on the brand name but only a list of cameras come up. and every time i try to print the document is sent to the printer the computer says it is printed but nothing comes out of the printer. i have uninstalled and reinstalled about 6 times in the past 5 days and rebooted every single time. please help asap.

Sounds like an HP forum situation.

From what I remember...an all-in-one is recognized by Windows as a printer, not as a printer and a scanner.

All your other situations seem to rest with the HP software you installed...don't know how many HP-users are here.

Not sure what you mean...

With any hardware which connects externally to the system (e.g., printer, scanner, camera, external hard drive), the first thing that I usually do is...connect the device to a different computer and see if the bad behavior continues. If it does, it's the device...if not, it's something on the system.

Actually, that's not the first thing. Uninstall/reinstall of current drivers/software...followed by download/install of most recent drivers/software.
