Okay I was printing out my notes for class last night and it printed two pages and then the third it thought it printed it because it said "job complete" but it didn't suck in the last piece of paper. It makes the noise of taking in the paper but only takes in like 2 inches and then stops pulling it in (but the sound of it printing and taking the paper in remains) and acts like it printed the file. I have plenty of paper on it so I don't think that's the problem. I tried with a little and a decent amount but neither work. When I opened the printer after trying to print something it's actually using ink also. Anyone know how I can fix this problem? (It's not out of ink. It's still half full.)

I have a Canon Pixma iP1700.

Thanks in advance. :]

Sounds like something in the drive mechanism. You might have some lose shards of paper inside the gears or a drive belt (if used) could be off.

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

I've never had a paper jam or seen any paper rip or anything. However now I am also getting a "jammed paper" error when I try to print. The same thing happens where it still tries to print and as it's pulling the paper in it think it's jammed. I looked at the printer and see nothing obstructing the paper path so I'm confused. :[

I tried doing the Waste Ink Counter Reset. However when I hold the Power button, both LED lights come on. (Green and orange.) I'm not sure what this means.
