Wanted to know if these simple plug & play Dell mouses -that have red light & do not need a mouse pad from Dell --also need new drivers, updates, etc. Or could this be a computer glitch problem after reformatting? Husband is doing a scan disk now. Just not sure how to resolve this new problem with the mouse. Very annoying. Thanks

You may need to get the mouse drive from Dell.com to load into your system. I think Win 98 is not a great plug and play system. You may have to load it. I also had a problem with the graphics driver and it had to be loaded also.

Is the mouse USB or does it plug into the PS2 plug? If it comes with an adapter for PS2, try that instead of USB.
