Hey, my son is using the internet late into the night, and it's interfering with his sleep. Is there way I can close his connection, daily, without having to manually do it myself? Thanks for the help...hopefully this will get his grades to start improving.

What operating system are you using?

Vista has built in parental controls which would do this.

That's ok, just means you'll have to use software instead. Now there's lots of stuff you can but but ive seen one called "iProtectYou" pop up a few times in other places. it can do a few things but one is to set time restrictions on internet access.

Here's a link to a bit of info and a download link.

Note: I havent used this myself.

Thanks Emu, but that's not really what I'm looking for. That program says it blocks websites, I need something to stop internet.

I've looked at something called a MAC Address..I believe you can close off specific ones, but I'm not sure if it's possible to block them on a daily basis with a program.

This program has a number of features, one is blocking websites, another is setting time limits on internet access. I believe the latter is what you are looking for? You don't have to use all the features, just the ones you want to.

A MAC Address is related to wireless connections. This wont help with setting internet access times.

If you can gain access to the router this may have a menu to activate/deactivate during certain times. Just a thought!
