Is it possible for one router to get it's internet connection from another one?

If you'd like, I'll explain this further:
I have a cable box that receives ethnic channels that I'll be getting soon. It receives its connection through an Ethernet port. It does not have WiFi and I don't want to run an Ethernet cord from my basement all the way up from my router. So can I just buy another router and have it receive it's internet from my pre-existing one, nothing will be plugged in the WAN port, just the Ethernet out to my cable box.

Im not fully following how you are wanting to set this up.

If you are wanting to have a wireless set up instead of running an ethernet cable through the house, you can buy a wireless router, connect the modem to the wireless router via ethernet and then connect wireless to the router.

It would go like this;

Cable Modem --> [ethernet cable] --> Wireless Router --> [wireless signal] --> Laptop/PC with wireless card

If this doesn't help or is different to how you want to set up post back and i'll try again :thumbsup:
