Hi frankenhart,

Welcome to BC HijackThis forum. I am farbar. I am going to assist you with your problem.
  • To solve the problem you mentioned please open HiJackThis and choose do a system scan only. Check the boxes next to ONLY the entries listed below (if present):

    O2 - BHO: Adobe PDF Reader Link Helper - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll (file missing)
    O2 - BHO: Browser Address Error Redirector - {CA6319C0-31B7-401E-A518-A07C3DB8F777} - C:\Program Files\BAE\BAE.dll
    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {D7F30B62-8269-41AF-9539-B2697FA7D77E} - (no file)

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, including browsers, so that nothing other than HijackThis is open, then click Fix Checked. A box will pop up asking you if you wish to fix the selected items. Please choose YES. Once it has fixed them, please exit/close HijackThis.

  • Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune & save it to your desktop.
    • Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
    • Under Main "Select Files to Delete" choose: Select All.
    • Click the Empty Selected button.
    • If you use Firefox browser click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
    • Click the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
    • If you use Opera browser click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
    • Click the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
    • Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
  • This one is unrelated to the problem but it is a security issue.Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malicious sites can use to exploit and infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update:
    • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Version 6 update 7 and save it to your desktop.
    • Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 7...allows end-users to run Java applications".
    • Click the "Download" button to the right.
    • Select your Platform: "Windows".
    • Select your Language: "Multi-language".
    • Read the License Agreement, and then check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
    • Click Continue and the page will refresh.
    • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation and save the file to your desktop.
    • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
    • Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove Programs and remove all older versions of Java.
    • Check (highlight) any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
    • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
    • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
    • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
    • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u7-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version.
  • This one is also unrelated to your problem: I see on your log that you are running two firewalls: McAfee and Sygate. Having two firewalls means every connection should pass through two security check points which means prolonging the connection time without adding more security. I recommend you to uninstall Sygate as the combination of Antivirus and Firewall from the same vendor is an optimal one.
Please let me know if your problem is resolved.

farbar, thank you for the response. I did everything until java and have a question. there is:
a: JRE 6 update 10 "... allows end-users to run java"
and
a: JRE 6 update 7 for Intel Itanium "The GA release of JRE 6u7 for Itanium® Linux Platforms and Itanium Windows® Platforms is now available and ready for immediate download and installation for supported platforms."

is the update 7 the correct one? the Intel Itanium doesn't sound like anything on my computer. I will wait till I hear back.

Thanks for the question, I was behind the update myself, it is indeed Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 10.

YEAH! it's gone away. I did all the other stuff too. Thank you.

Now, are you able to help wiht this one also:

When the computer is turned on, this error message pops up, but when you click "OK" it seems that nothing else happens:
"
MWLGui.exe - Unable To Locate Component
-------------------------------------------
This application has failed to start becase sqlite3.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem
-------------------------------

OK
"

It pops up in just a regular windows error box.

You should uninstall McAfee Wireless Home Network Security User Interface.

Then apply ATF Cleaner like you did it in earlier post.

Then reinstall McAfee Wireless Home Network Security User Interface'

Uninstalling via Add/Remove Program might not always work as it might not remove all the components. You should use McAfee Consumer Product Removal tool (MCPR.exe).

But it might remove all McAfee products like SiteAdvisor too and you have to install the application again.

For download and instruction to use McAfee Consumer Product Removal tool click on majorgeeks.com

Please let me know how it went.
