What i'm trying to say is;

I have a windows media center 2005 pc that will need to be reinstalled. I do not have the windows cd. I want to know if I can just get any other windows media center 2005 cd? It should be legit since I have the serial sticker and all, right? The serial on this pc will only work for media center edition, right?

That's correct...same version CD can be used, with your unique license/key.

MCE 2002 is not considered the same version.
