As you can see in my description, my computer is running very slow.
I don't know how to check what the problem is.
I run Vista, Use AVG for my Anti-Virus. (Firefox as my default Browser)
Intel® Core2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz 2.20GHz
3.00 GB Ram
About 2 Weeks ago had got a very annoying virus with IE Explorer-Pop Ups. I tried to look into what could be causing the problem but found no solution since I didn't know what I contracted.
I believe it came from a 'Video Codec' when I was watching videos one day and ended up on unfamiliar sites, and stupid me I download and installed it, and that's when I got the pop ups telling me to download an Anti-Virus to get rid of it.. seemed like a scam to me.
The pop-ups are gone now, with the help of AVG, but now my computer is running very slow. I have a sidebar addon that says both core 1 and 2 are running at 100% and I'm using 50% of my RAM. I'm not really doing anything at all and that my computer shouldn't be maxed out from start-up to finish.
Thanks alot for any help I can get, getting tired of this
