HI there I have a seagate 120 Gb harddrive and just suddenly have been giving me problems.... I installed a smaller(older) 20 Gb Fireball just to see what happened and I was able to install and run windows just fine but when I try to install on this seagate will not work (trying to install Linux).....

I have tried using Deriks Boot and Nuke to clean it and I have also ran the quick test from Seatools for Dos adn it reported no errors and Smart is supported and has not been tripped........

I did find out that one of the caps in the PSU blew and replaced it with a 400 W I removed the only PCI card that is installed and still no go........

I just used seagates erase tool and now I just started a Mem test and I think I just found some problems I am getting some red.......

Will get back to you......
