I've got some horrible nasties - I have rebooted into safe mode, run spybot and adaware this finds a number of items, then fixes them but the problems appear to return immediately after reboot.

Symptoms include internet running slowly, windows popping up randomly and pages being re-ditrected to other sites

I believe some of the problems include:-

- Win32.Agent.pz
- PWS.LDPinchIE
- Virtumonde

Any pointers or help would be very greatfully received.

Heres my HJT:-

Hi

Please Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here :-

http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Ant...ware_d5756.html

or here :-

http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

* Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
* The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.
* The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
* Copy and Paste the entire report in your next reply.

THEN ...

Please follow these directions to run Combofix & post a log.

That seems to have fixed everything - thanks. I wish I'd found Comobofix a week ago - that seemed to fix most of the problems for me.

I ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware - I hadn't heard of that before so cheers.

I've gone through my latest HJT log and all seems to be well (Stuck on the bottom just for good measure).

The PC does seem to be take longer to boot up than it used to but that may be because the HD is seriously fragmented - need to free up a load of space to allow the defrag to be efficient.

Many thanks for your invaluable assistance

Hi

Your hijackthis log is now clean, however hijackthis does not show everything, it's more of a pointer to infections, gives us an idea of what other programs to run ... the logs from those programs will show us a lot more

I would like to see the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware & Combofix logs please to assess what malware if any still remains ... there will also be some final cleaning to do...

I see you are running a defrag when you ran the latest hijackthis ... you should refrain from using the computer whilst the defrag is running to get the best results, also turn off any real time protection, like your AV for the duration of the defrag.

Hi

A close family member has died, & as next of kin it has fallen upon me to make the funeral arrangements & sort out their personal affairs. this is the first time I have logged on to my computer for 3 days & it is only to let people know why I have not replied to them, I hope you understand that I will not be able to continue helping you at this moment in time, it may be a while before I get back on-line...

If you still need help, please feel free to start another thread & post a link to this thread, so that your new helper will know what we have done.
