slow bt internet

before i got my bt home hub i did a broadband line test though bt which said my phone line will handle 3mb which isnt fast as it is but im only getting around 1.5mb on a good day!! im signed up for 8mb broadband so the problem shouldnt lie there! can anyone give me advice on how to get my connection speed up please??

you mention you ran combofix to presumably try to sort out an infection?What other scans or tests have you run to eliminate an infection from the problem ?
Have you got this portal on your Desktop ?If so you can run an on-line test for the line

i've run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and lava soft ad-ware, both found problems which have been cleaned, i didn't continue with combofix after the reply i got!scared me a bit :thumbsup:

i dont know if i have a poral or not!! sorry!!

once you have run it , it has an on- line section for you to chat with the BT helpers too

if you HAVE a problem wouuld you like to run a couple of far 'safer' scans than combofix to seee if you are, according to them , clean?

assuming you have XP(?) you can run these two for starters
