I got duped last night. It is Malware refered to as Virus Response 2009. I have removed everything except an annoying system tray icon that pops up a false Syetm Alert every couple minutes, claiming to be able to save me from this annoyance it itself has unleashed upon me for a one time fee of $19.99 (ok, not exactly what it says, but it might as well). It is a clickable link to their website. Even right clicking it goes to their website. The icon resembles the Windows Firewall red "X" shield icon, and the same icon in blue with a question mark, alternating between the two. Mouse hovering does not create a tooltip. I cannot seem to get rid of it, and cannot find a proccess left accociated with it. I used PC Tools Spyware Doctor with Antivirus and Search and Destroy to remove it for the most part. I have included this pic which shows the two alternating system icon states, as well as the stupid message that pops up, just as a visual reference, hey maybe you've seen what it does...

I know for a fact that these three entries were part of the problem. although still referenced in the log, they are missing files, which were removed already as I mentioned before. I just dont know why the system tray icon is still there, or how to get rid of it.

I fixed it. I noticed some people had been looking at my topic, I just wanted to let you all know. I finally got MalwareBytes to work for me. Had a problem with it not wanting to load due to a missing dll on my comp. But I fixed that. High praise to the created this proggie!! Thank you to anybody who might have been looking into my problem for me, and, I suppose, sorry I kinda wasted some of you bug-hunting time

ps -
