Hi,

There are a few user accounts on this computer, the other day one would not load (an administrator account). I used a restore point, went back a few days and was able to get into the account. I backed up what I needed then deleted the account and created a new one. Now the new account will not load. I'm just wondering what is going on.

Everything else on the computer seems to be working fine.

I'd suspect that something that you transferred or re-setup in the new account is causing this. A careful review of any programs, tweaks, etc should narrow down the list of suspects.

The account seems to load ok as long as I am not also logged onto the other administrator account at the same time. Do you think the other account could be the problem?

Also, just before the problem started I had a sony mp3 player connected to the computer, could it have loaded software that might be causing the problem?

It's possible - but to find out you'd have to make all new user accounts and delete the old ones. Or, it can be a startup program that refuses to allow 2 instances of itself to be running.

FWIW - I'd suggest disabling Fast User Switching. It's (IMO) a problematic tool and it's almost as fast to Log Off and then Log On to another account (with the added benefit being that it'll conserve your RAM).
