I believe I have successfully removed all viruses/malware (there were a bunch) from this pc, using MBAM, SDFix, ATF-Cleaner and SuperAntiSpyware.
I have run a scan with McAfee and AVG Free and they don't find anything.
However the infection has caused some more problems: I managed to create a new admin account and it looks OK.
The existing accounts (3 of them) all lacked everything but "Printers and Faxes" in the Start menu. I found most of it in the advanced settings but the Log Off button is still missing.
There's also a VIRUS ALERT! text in the taskbar, which I cannot get rid of.

Furthermore when I try to run regedit, from these accounts, I get this pop-up: "Editing the register has been inactivated by your administrator".

Can the user accounts be recovered, or do I have to delete them and create new ones?

You either need to update the scanners and repeat the steps for cleanup or post some logs so we can suggest something to finish removing the malware

You didn't get it all

No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try.
