I installed win98 in a pc one computer due it had a virus and corrupted several files so I formatted again and installed the program all was ok except that when I want to change th seetings for the display they dont change cos only 16 colors and the resolution is minima,arrow to the left. Please if you can help with this problem.

You will need to re-install the graphics card (display adaptor) drivers

Here more news:
The monitor is a LG model 553V
and in system properties we got:
Standard PCi graphics adapter (VGA)
Hardware version 033
This device works properly

Driver file detail
c:\windows\system\vga.drv
c:\windows\system\vmm32.vxd(vdd.vxd)

by the way there is no sound either
what do you suggest

After you install an operating system you sometimes need to install the device drivers. Do you have a CD that came with that computer that has drivers for the motherboard? If so, run that. It must be for that computer.

I think I found what you need. That chipset is called PC133 GFXcel and has onboard video. It would seem that its an SIS 630 in reality. You can get the drivers for the motherboard here. On that page don't bother with the AGP driver but the rest apply to the mobo.

If this computer connects to the internet you can also go to the SiS Chipset Identification Online Utility and run through the process. At the end the drivers will be presented for download.

Burn these drivers if you can for future use.
