Uh. Oh. The screen on my Sony Vaio laptop, three years old, has started blinking out for a second or two. It happened once about a week ago. It's happened twice tonight. I assume that I should be concerned. Sounds like the video card or something like that? Anything I can do quickly to prevent a disaster?

First guess - Inverter
Second guess - Broken wire in harness
Third guess - Backlight

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

Thanks. Can you explain, briefly, what each of those three are and how much, roughly, to repair?
