Hi,

I am using Windows XP with Microsoft Office 2007 installed.

I use Outlook Express 6 and Spell Check was always available in English.

Today, suddenly, Spell Check used French Dictionary.
I closed Outlook Express and re-open it.
Spell Check went missing!

Please kindly help me get back Spell Check and get it to use the English Dictionary.

Thank You.

To add spell check back to your message toolbar:

Open OE, then click on Create Mail.
On the line where you see Send, Cut, Copy, Paste etc. DOUBLE left click or right click.
Available toolbar buttons panel, double left click Spelling-this will add it to Current Toolbar Buttons.
Close out the message box.

To change it to English:
In the OE toolbar, click on Tools/Options/Spellings.
Reset the language to the appropriate English for you.
Click APPLY.

Hi Queen-Evie'

Thanks! I got the Spell Check back.

However, in the OE toolbar, I click on Tools/Options/Spellings, there is only French Dictionary. no English.

Kindly advise.

Thanks a lot.

A quick search turned up this:

Outlook Express Spell Check is French after Office 2007 install

There are alternatives for spell checking. The one mentioned in the article above mentions Spell Checker for OE 2.1

It's available for download here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=2952

If it's on majorgeeks, it "does what it promises and is spyware and virus free" .
