I'm sure this is something very easy, but I'm not getting it. I tried both the mIRC connection and the web-based connection to try and reach the BC chatroom and get a blip of the chatroom and then everything is gone and there is a bunch of information ending with the following:

[21:51] *** Topic is Welcome to the Bleeping Computer chat channel. Don't ask to ask. State your question and someone will answer when they have time. Please read our rules of use here > http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/chat.php | Chat Stats here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/chatstats/ | 200000 members! W00T!!!

[21:51] *** Channel mode is +ntrSGUf [2c#C30,6j#i10,2k#K30,25m#m10,8n#N15]:5

I get that when I try using the web-based chat client. I tried enabling popups and that didn't help. I turned off my firewall and that didn't help. I enabled mIRC in my firewall and that didn't help.
With mIRC I get something similar. I clicked continue at the registration popup and filled it in. I can get to the chatroom and see all chatters in both the mIRC window and the web-based chat window, and I can type in a message and it will appear in the room, but I don't get any responses or see any other conversations going on. I have the feeling I need to put in the information listed in your "How to connect to our chatrooms", but I don't know where to put it in.

Sorry. I haven't used this before. Thanks for helping me get this sorted out.

Hi Zlio,

I've only just started checking out chat and it was a bit confusing.

If you're looking at the info that you posted

Then you've already connected. This is the private channel info. Press the public channel button below it on the dashboard and then introduce yourself. Once you've done this then a mod will take it from there.

More info is available on the top right hand side Help button.

Zllio! It was nice to see you in the chat, and I do hope you come back  I am glad you were able to get there finally.

I'm back again. I did manage to get into the chat window once or twice using the web-based chat program. I haven't been able to get mIRC to work. What I'm getting now using the web-based chat program is the following error:

[time stamp]Unable to connect: java.net.NoRouteToHostException:No route to host connect

I checked my firewall to make sure java is enabled, but that seems to be okay. Any ideas what I need to do?

Thanks!
