I have a basic computer setup. I have an ECS P4M800-M MB, 3.06 Ghz Celeron D processor, and a gig or ram. Not too impressive but it serves it's purpose. Anyway, last night without warning my sound went. I have tried numerous sound cards to no avail. When window media player is running and I'm watching the graphic equalizer you can see that the computer is playing music but there's no sound from the speakers whatsoever and like I said, I've tried numerous sound cards and 3 different speaker setups( just so I could eliminate any chance that it may be the speakers). Any ideas?

Are you sure it's not muted anywhere? That seems to be the only possibility

I've checked everything and still no luck. Like you said, it's as if it's muted. I reformatted and still the same issue. I tried different sound cards and it still has the same issue. When I go to play something you can see the EQ jumping to the beats of what I should be hearing but I get zero sound. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Check my post here. This is what I found that worked for me. Good Luck.
