I was typing and my monitor suddenly changed the direction of "up" to the right side. It's gone from the normal "landscape" mode to "portrait" mode. How can I get this back.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 and am running Windows Vista. I've tried rebooting which didn't work.

Sounds like you hit a 'Function' key while you were typing that shifted your montior. Laptops are notorious for doing that.

Check the manual and look for the Function key that rotates the display, like for a notepad.

Good luck.

Thanks for replying.... Ah, there, I have found it! It is CTL-ALT plus whichever arrow one wants to turn the screen in the direction of that arrow. So, the up arrow....
