Download LSPFix and unzip into it's own folder.
Do not use it yet
If the next step leaves you without a functioning Internet connection, you will need to run this.

To remove New.Net please go to:
Start | Control Panel | Add-Remove Programs, look for and remove New.Net or NewdotNet
If you can't find it, then please go here and follow the removal instructions in Procedure 4 at the bottom of the page.

Next please do the following:
(Thanks Grinler)

Follow these steps to remove Webhancer:

1. Click on Start | Settings | Control Panel

2. Double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon.

3. Uninstall Webhancer from the listing of programs

4. Delete the following files and directories:C:\Program Files\webhancer <-- Folder
C:\Windows\webhdll.dll <-- File
C:\Windows\whagent.inf <-- File
C:\Windows\whInstaller.exe <-- File
C:\Windows\whInstaller.ini <-- File
If you can not connect to the Internet after removing Webhancer or New.Net, please run the LSP-Fix program I had you download earlier, and click on the finish button. Reboot and you should be able to get back on.

At this point, Webhancer should now be removed from your computer.

Note: Misuse of LSPFix can cause loss of internet connectivity. Do not use it if it is not required.

Once you have rebooted please post back a new HJT log by using Add Reply

Thanks,
rstones12

luiscmanotas,
OK we are going to need to remove some items.

First print out these instructions:

Enable show hidden files and folders:

* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

Now close all browsers and open windows.

Scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to the following items.

O2 - BHO: C:\WINDOWS\system32\atmpvc.dll - {7DBA5E61-9C51-4365-ACD2-DE684E133F8C} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\atmpvc.dll

O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\miamore32.dll (file missing)
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Sun Java Console - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\miamore32.dll (file missing)

O20 - Winlogon Notify: eventss - C:\WINDOWS\system32\atmpvc.dll

Now with HJT click on Fix Checked

Reboot into Safe Mode this is important, you can do this by tapping the F8 key while your system restarts.

Then delete these files or directories (Do not be concerned if they do not exist)

C:\WINDOWS\system32\atmpvc.dll <-- File
C:\WINDOWS\system32\miamore32.dll <-- File

Reboot your computer normally then post back a new HJT by using Add Reply

Thanks,
rstones12

Hello!!

Thanks for your help.
I did what you sugested in the last reply, but it was not completed... It was impossible to fix the follow items:

O2 - BHO: C:\WINDOWS\system32\atmpvc.dll - {7DBA5E61-9C51-4365-ACD2-DE684E133F8C} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\atmpvc.dll

luiscmanotas,

You are currently using a P2P client that in known to load spyware/malware.
I would strongly recommend removing it from your system.

edonkey2000

Please do the following:

Scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to the following items.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [eDonkey2000] "C:\Program Files\eDonkey2000\edonkey2000.exe" -t

Close all browsers and open windows except HJT then click Fix Checked

Go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add Remove Programs
Then remove the following or any variation of it:
edonkey2000

Using Windows Explorer find and remove the following folders/files if present:

C:\Program Files\eDonkey2000 <-- Folder

Please run at least one of these online scans, allow it to delete anything it finds:
You may have to select the auto-fix option prior to scanning, it should be a selection box on the screen. If you are a dial-up user just do one, this can take some time.
If you are a broadband user, I would suggest at least 2 of the 3. One extra scan is most often times enough.TrendMicro HouseCall
BitDefender On-Line Virus Scan
Panda ActiveScan
Please make a note of anything that wasn't or couldn't be fixed.

Reboot and post back a new HJT log by using Add Reply

Thanks,

luiscmanotas,

Please do the following:

Download Killbox

Extract it from the zip file then double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.

Click on "Delete on Reboot",
In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box type or copy and paste:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\atmpvc.dll

Now click on the button with the white "x" in a red circle.
You will get a question "File will be Deleted on Next Reboot"
answer "Yes", followed by "File will be Removed on
Reboot, Do you want to reboot now?", answer "yes" then Let Killbox do it's work.

Reboot and post a new HJT log by using Add Reply

Thanks,
rstones12

luiscmanotas,

OK, thats looking much better.
Please do the following:

Download CleanUp
Install the program, dont run it yet, we will later.

Scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to the following items:

O2 - BHO: C:\WINDOWS\system32\atmpvc.dll - {7DBA5E61-9C51-4365-ACD2-DE684E133F8C} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\atmpvc.dll (file missing)

O20 - Winlogon Notify: eventss - C:\WINDOWS\system32\atmpvc.dll (file missing)

Close all browsers and open windows except HJT then click the Fix Checked button.

Start CleanUp
When CleanUp starts go to the Options button (right side of CleanUp screen)
Uncheck cookies
This is optional, if you leave the box checked it will remove all of your cookies.
Click OK
Then click on the CleanUp button. This will take a short while, let it do its thing.
When asked to reboot system select No
Close CleanUp

Update your Anti-Virus Program, then boot into SafeMode and do a scan.
Remove anything it finds.

Reboot and post back a new HJT log by using Add Reply

Thanks,
rstones12

luiscmanotas,

Just a couple of items I would recommend removing:

Scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to the following items:

O15 - Trusted Zone: *.musicmatch.com
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.musicmatch.com (HKLM)

Close all browsers and open windows except HJT the click Fix Checked

Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:

Detect and Remove Programs:
  • How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
  • How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.
Prevention Programs:
  • Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
  • Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your coputer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
  • Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.
Other necessary Programs:
  • AntiVirus Program<= An AntiVirus program is a must! Whether it is a free version like AVG or Anti-Vir, or a shareware version like Norton or Kapersky, this is a must have.
  • Firewall<= A firewall is definatley a must have. Two good free versions are Sygate and ZoneLabs.
  • More Secure Browser<= Internet Explorer is not the most secure and best browser. There are safer and better alternatives available. I recommend Firefox, however Opera is OK as well.
Be sure to also keep up with Windows and IE updates.

Windows security and critical updates.
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

Internet Explorer security and critical updates.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp

And also see TonyKlein's good advice
So how did I get infected in the first place? and AntiSpyware Net's spyware article: Spyware, Adware, Malware: What it is, how it got on my computer, how to get rid of it, and how to prevent it.

Thanks,
rstones12
