Could be signs of a malware infection.

I've had this happen when an application steals focus from the game. Usually it's either a self-updating webpage or a program working on a schedule.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

It's hard to tell without monitoring the system. Can you uninstall BitDefender temporarily? Install another antivirus to ensure you remain protected - I'd suggest the free Avast available here (it doesn't minimize my games): http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

FWIW you can monitor the system using this free utility: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysintern...essmonitor.mspx

Be advised that the logs that this utility generates are HUGE and can completely fill your hard drive (I'm not familiar with setting up the filters to help limit the log size).
That being said you can run the tool, then start the game and run it until it minimizes. Then note the time in the system tray immediately.
Then cruise through the log looking for programs that were acting at that time.

Just to add, TweakUI (Microsoft powertoy) has the ability to prevent applications from stealing focus. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/Downloa...ppowertoys.mspx

Alan.
