Enabling Windows Xp Through The Command Prompt

My computer wont bootstrap into windows xp and i need to use my boot cd in order to get in to my c:/> drive & activate the file that would boot windows,
however i dont know the name of the folder & the file name, would you help me please?

boot into the repair console and type in fixmbr, and see if that works. If it doesn't then try fixboot.

chkdsk c: /p /r
can also help with a lot of boot issues as well
