Hello all,

Forgive if this is a silly question, however I have lost my wireless connection. I don't know if this helps, however; when I went into the "status" info for my wireless connection, it indicates that I have an invalid IP address. How do I get the computer with the wireless adapter to recognize/identify the IP address?

Sorry if this is confusing.........hopefully somebody can help!

Thanks,

Jim

I'd first suggest that you open a command prompt (Start...Run...type in "cmd.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter).
Then, in the black window that appears type the following (press Enter after each one)

IPCONFIG /RELEASE

IPCONFIC /RENEW

Press Enter after each one (and note any error messages that may pop up). There's a space before each of the / marks also.

And, I'm going to move this over to the Networking forum where the networking experts hang out.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
