Hi,

I am trying to fix my sons laptop. He has managed to get the antivirusxp2008 on his laptop and everything I try to do
is not working. I am getting really aggravated with this.

I am reading all the posts on this particular malware and they seem to all point to the same thing. Is my case a severe
one?

Anyway, I'll get to the point.

First,
I am not able to go to this forum using his laptop, there for I am reading and writing using my computer. What happens?
When I try to go to this forum, I get a message that pops up saying that that it cannot find server. When I get google to come up i'll type in kaspersky online scanner and something else comes up that says Reported Insecure Browsing: Navigation
Blocked. Or it just freezes up.

Second,
I was able to download, to his desktop, Download_mbam-setup and when I click on it a window pops up saying that the download is not a valid win32 application.

Is there anything I can do that I haven't tried yet? Remember that I am limited on his laptop. I can't even update
his Norton Internet Security software.

Please help,

Arnhof

Do any of the safe mode options work, if so which ones?
Chewy

No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try.

Hello Chewy,

All of the safe mode options work.

I downloaded to my computer the adware and spyware search and destroy programs, and transfered them to a disk.
I put the disk into the laptop only to find that the drive is missing. So i couldn't transfer the programs that way either.
