Internet Connected But Not The Browser

I have ab ACER notebook with Windows Vista Home Basic. Everything was working fine. I have three computer at home, two desktop with XP and a router Belkin Wireless. Two weeks ago when i star my notebook everything was ok, the messenger get connected but, when I try to start Internet I get "Internet Explorer cannot display the website", With Firefox, I get something similar "Unable to connect". I run the commend "ipconfig" and I did some Ping and everything look Ok.

Any idea? Thanks for your help

Site could be down. also goto Tools in settings and Uncheck Work Offline.

try running browsers without firewall enabled...

I had a similar problem. I downloaded Malware bytes anti malware for free and when I ran the program it found a bunch of viruses. Once the infected files were deleted, everything went back to normal.

Maybe you are right, but then i reccommend a good anti-virus
