Downloaded the latest version of VLC player from Download.com last night, but nothing recognises the file type

C:\Download\vlc-0.9.2.dmg

Anyone come across this?

I'll just get it from another site, but it seems a weird thing for download.com to host.

Try Filehippo. I got it there yesterday with no problem.

C:\Download\vlc-0.9.2.dmg would be the version for Mac. Look at the top of the page @ Download & select Windows from the tabs or the dropdown box.

Yes, that could very well be it. The advice of a new version came via email from download.com, so I just automatically got it via a couple of links without checking the OS, because I have never had this type of thing before. Pay me to take more care, LOL.

Have already got the new one from FileHippo. Thanks Frank.

Cheers
