First post !! so here we go. Got ms antivirus 2009 on the computer on fri. Shut the computer down and tried to start it in safemode. Then shut down again and it seemed to skip the safemode function. Then scanned with E trust Antivirus and downloaded Spyware Doctor which - after a couple of goes - plus E Trust again seemed to get rid of everything. However I had a warning message witgh a large warning triangle saying about the desktop image had changed and was it because the computer was not shutdown properly or other reasons?? I clicked "due to computer not being shutdown properly". Since then I followed your instructions ref Adaware Spybot etc and have created a log. Basically I cannot select a desktop background and it is white with - folder tasks / other places / details blue box area down the left hand side of the screen. If I set the screen back ground to blue, then nothing happens until the screensaver comes on then it turns completely blue and eventually the screensaver pulls up ok. The computer seems very slow (but not sure if this is because of antispyware / etc etc??

Can you help me :-)
