I live in Kuwait and my Aunt sent me a Dell Laptop as a gift..yay! But I did not get a modem with it.

Please advise??

I use dial up and my phone jack does not fit into the socket. I bought a phone jack adpater and it still does not work.

I took it into a computer shop and the guy said I need a modem. But he does not have the one I need. What is the modem? Does it go inside the laptop? I am really confused.

My Aunt has a Links eye modem that she is willing to mail me...will this work??

Thanks! xoxoxoxox

Sumi -

What model laptop is it? You can purchase a PCMCIA card that fits into the side of the laptop and give you the functionality you need. The modem is where the phone cord plugs into.

You may also be able to find help here on the Laptop Board:

If the general members cannot help, a Dell Liaison will be able to.
Be sure to mention the model. Do not post your service code.
