Hi there,

I have recently gotten a virus in which I belive is the networm-i.virus@fp.. some symptoms are that my computer keeps shutting itself down.. which is very frustrating... also when I can (not often) get to my user screen I have porno pop-ups and virus programs telling me I am infected and need to download them now...! I cannot seem to get past my login screen anymore without the computer shutting down on me. Now this is the biggest problem... I must do everything in safe mode... BTW I have Vista home edition... My question to all of you brilliant people is... WHAT CAN I DO??????

Hi riplennon,

Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode

Once in Safe Mode, open the SmitfraudFix folder again and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd

Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.

You will be prompted: "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart it into Normal Windows.

A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process

Hope this helps.

EDIT: presentation looks

Are you able to enter safe mode with networking? from here you should still be able to access the site and download.

You will have to do the installation in safe mode aswell which should be ok.

Other than that you will have to download onto another PC (if you can) and then extract etc and copy onto CD and then try and copy to your desktop once in safe mode and run from there.
